Update Halcon11 Octobre 2011

HALCON 11 Spotlight: Hardware

+ HALCON 11 Runs on Mac OS X
Since the beginning of HALCON, the software runs on different operating systems. In addition to the operating systems Microsoft Windows and Linux, HALCON 11 now also runs on the operating system Mac OS X 10.7. With this step, HALCON 11 has entered the Apple world to reach another worldwide established user community.

+ HALCON 11 Image Acquisition Interfaces
HALCON is independent from any image acquisition hardware. Because of this, HALCON provides a large number of interfaces to image acquisition devices. Also for Mac OS X, HALCON 11 offers a lot of possibilities to various devices. For more information refer to:

HALCON 11 Spotlight: Automatic Feature Selection for Classification

With HALCON 11's new "automatic feature selection" option it is now possible to automatically determine, which feature extraction algorithm is best for a classification task. Prior to this, the user had to manually select which of the many feature extraction algorithms should be used in, e.g., blob analysis. Now the user only has to provide the training data.

The automatic feature selection greatly enhances the usability, because no manual selection and tuning is required any more.

It also enhances accuracy as the manual selection of the best possible feature selection is a difficult and often error-prone task.
